Miss Kaleigh Mcilveen

Competitive & Recreational Instructor

Kaleigh is our Tumbling Coach here at Elite Danceworks. Most of my athletes know me as Kiwi, it was a nickname given to me by one of my cheerleading coaches and it’s stuck ever since. I started my love from tumbling at a very young age (3 years old). I was an artist gymnast for 16 years competing at the provincial level for 6 of those years and a Competitive Cheerleader for 7 years.

My passion has always been the floor exercise and tumbling because who doesn’t want to learn how to flip and fly? As soon as soon as I was the age eligible to start coaching tumbling I jumped right in. I started coaching at the age of 14 and have continued it throughout my life.

I’ve coached tumbling classes from age’s 4-18 level 1-7, from front rolls to Layouts and Twisting at locations in Simcoe all the way to Guelph/Cambridge. I’ve been certified by the USASF cheerleading Federation and the NCCP Gymnastics Coaches training program. Any athlete I have had the privilege of coaching will tell you my gymnastics background is fairly evident as I drive a hard focus on basics, technique and skill specific conditioning.

These are the fundamentals I love to instill in any athlete that I coach. Throughout my own tumbling career I have managed to perfect skills that have allowed me to place top 3 at provincial championship for gymnastics and landed a spot on Team Canada Cheerleading twice winning Gold in 2009 at the ICU Worlds. I cannot wait to work with all of you and help you achieve your tumbling Goals!
